Hi again to all readers., and welcome to the second month of the TCSI “Week#2” portfolio stock picks. “Week#2” is the group of DKK, INR, NOK and SEK-denoted portfolios that I will release on or around the 8th of each month, following the “Week#1” portfolios which include AUD, EUR, JPY and USD. As a reminder, these portfolios are a live and open presentation of TCSI “System Long” strategy trading strategy in action.
I’ve been busy working to further bulletproof my data sources so haven’t been paying much attention to the news cycle, but earnings season is upon us and soon much of the global market will release their annual reports for calendar year 2023. This will mean new data available, for more up to date analysis and, as a result, new investment opportunities are likely to appear. I am looking forward to it!
If and when I do check the financial news, I note that Nvidia stock has tipped over $700 USD and meanwhile half the world is predicting epic crashes while the other half dreams of an AI-inspired glorious dawn. Honestly, who knows? And really, I don’t care. Month after month, I commit what capital (read: cash) I can to those stocks that I indentify as the fastest growing, most highly profitable, and ideally with a long history of outperformance, when available at what seems like a justifiable price. Then I repeat.
This month’s trades were interesting as many of the stocks suggested by the TCSI ranking system appear to have had a rough 2023, with many stocks reporting reduced revenues, higher costs and reduced income as a result. That said, it is important to remember that the TCSI process is largely systematic, involves a multi-year time horizon and the rules and rankings involve multi-year economic performance, so one-year blips are not typically cause for concern.
The industries of stocks selected noticeably depends considerably on the country (lots of salmon farmers in Norway, it seems, whereas India markets include a high ratio of chemicals, industry and steel and unfortunately not as much IT as I really expected, as most is quite highly priced), but the strategy is not industry-specific and will go wherever the quality is.
If you need a brief refresher of what you can expect now and in future then I encourage you to refer back to the launch announcement, but without further ado, this month’s trades for the TCSI Systematic Long DKK, INR, NOK and SEK portfolios, with a denoted trade date of 08 February 2024 are as follows:

Of course, one month (and one quarter and even one year) tells us nothing about how the TCSI strategy will perform over the long run. That said, I am happy to say that so far things look promising, and am excited to share progress.
Thanks for reading, more soon…
